The Great Wall is the symbol of the Chinese nation. It stretches 6,350 kilometers from Yalu River in the east to Jiayu Pass in the far west.

It’s the largest military defense project in the world and is listed as one of the seven ancient architectural wonders of the world.

And according to the report of the American astronauts, the Great Wall of China as a manmade project can be seen from the moon.

Parts of the Great Wall were first built during the Warring States Period (221 BC).

Some of the Great Wall’s most famous sections, such as Badaling,Juyongguan,Mutianyu, Jinshanling and Simatai, are located in Beijing area.

  2. We LOVED our tour with you guys.
Susan was our guide and was simply the best, she was so kind and helpful and just gave us a great experience.
She was there waiting at the airport as expected even though our flight was an hour and a half late and then getting the visa took much longer than expected.

Our driver was amazing and got us to the airport in heavy traffic quickly.

So happy with your company and really appreciate getting to see some amazing sights on a short amount of time.

    Thank you!
    Justin

  3. Our experience was great!! James (5 stars) was the best guide we ever had. We only have an 8 hours layover and they made all the tour simple.

Nuestra experiencia fue genial!! James fue el mejor guía que pudimos tener. Aunque solo teníamos una escala de 8 hrs, ellos hicieron todo el arreglo simple.

Amazing opportunity to visit the Great Wall during a long layover in Beijing

We had a nine hour layover in Beijing, and decided to try to visit the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall while we were there. Layover Tour Beijing was great to deal with right from our first contact with them. We booked just the day before leaving Thailand, but they were very prompt about getting back to us, and had a lovely guide and driver waiting for us at the airport. Their site is very informative about the process for getting out of the airport for a short visit without having arranged a visa ahead of time, and they followed up with us while we were waiting at immigration, which was reassuring.
Grace, our guide, was super informative and accommodating, and helped make our visit go very smoothly. We had an amazing experience, and I would definitely do another trip with this company.

  5. Need a airport to Great Wall your for 2 people on March 16th. Our flights arrives at 8:35am and leaves at 6:50pm.

  6. We arrive at almost midnight and leave at 9:00 am in Beijing This happens twice once on the incoming flight once on the outgoing flight Irs it possible to go to the Great Wall watch the sunrise at 6:00 leave by 6:30 and goback? What about Beijing at night?

  7. Awesome experience from the moment we were picked up at the airport.

We worked with Adela to coordinate our tour. She was very focused in making sure our experience will be unforgettable. She assigned Sherry as our tour guide and Anita as the driver. Both of them were very helpful and accomodating as I injured my left foot while I was in Thailand. Sherry made sure that I was comfortable even though it was a challenge walking in my crutches. She asked the chairlift operators to make sure that the chairs were stopped so I could get on and off comfortably. Fortunately for us, we were there the day after Chinese New Year so it was not very busy.

Sherry also recommended for us to try a tea ceremony because we had some time. It was a welcome relief because the tea was hot and Great Wall tour was very cold.

I will definitely use Layover Tour Beijing China again for my next Beijing trip. And I highly recommend them.

  8. We booked the layover tour a couple of days before we flew home and we received an email confirmation with information of the tour. We met in Starbucks and there were many people holding up signs with names on them. We met Alice our tour guide and then our driver, Mr Lee. It took an hour to reach The Great Wall and Mutianyu which was the area we would be visiting. Alice gave us lots of interesting information about China. When we arrived she handled the tickets and booked our cable car and tobbogon tickets. We went on the cable car and then took lots of pictures. Alice knew all the right places to take the photos. We had some free time and could choose when we left. It was just after 8am when we arrived so the wall was so quiet. We took the tobbogon down to the bottom which was really fun. Then we drove back to the airport. We had plenty of time until our flight. Good use of a layover!!
